We journey with God, to serve with love

Hope

March 23, 2020

When I think about “HOPE” the first thing that pops into my mind is rainbows! When Noah and his family were in the ark for all of those long days and nights, they longed for a sign from God that all was going to be well. Right now, our world is consumed with fear as is evidenced in this huge pause we’ve been asked to take from our normal lives. I don’t suspect we’ll get some sort of new sign from God blazing across the skies, but I truly believe that all will be well. This pause is allowing scientists to rush the development of medications and a vaccine to combat the virus. If we can prevent the spread by following the recommendations of our government and top health officials, I think we have a better than fighting chance to stop it.

Personally, this break has allowed me to slow down and spend more contemplative time during this time before Holy Week instead of my usual rushing around. I miss worshiping with all of you, but I know I’m my heart we are doing the right thing by staying away from each other! One thing that is helping me through the isolation is “intentional gratitude.” I take time every day to thank God for all of His blessings, both great and small. To do this, simply take a few moments to think about anything and everything you are thankful for. If it helps you, write them down...then put them in a place where you’ll see them at different times during the day. That way you can re-read your list and be thankful many times a day!

Staying positive is important. Even though we are not in the office, your staff is still available to support you. All you need to do is send an email or call the church. We are monitoring the phones remotely .

Peace,

Sharon
