We journey with God, to serve with love

3 Apostles

April 3, 2020

I'm missing seeing Bethlehem friends as we are confined to our homes...
So I've been thinking about some of them specifically...

I remember when Carl approached me about running for Council.  Straight-forward; honest, persuasive- with the bearing of an old testament prophet.  Committed and inviting me to join him.  Once on Council and throughout my tenure, Carl's voice was always considered, thoughtful, and focused on Bethlehem reflecting the teachings of the Christ.  I often refer to Carl as "The Godfather of all Property"...or a Godfather of Bethlehem itself.  With Carl, the course is always true...and he's the first volunteer for time at the tiller.

Norm "brought me to the river".  He emerged from working on a project in the basement and invited me to a river clean-up.  He caught me at coffee and reminded me.  I saw his mobile workshop out by the garage- peeked in- and he wanted to know if I needed a ride or wanted to meet at Bethlehem.  His commitment to Creation Care is second to none...and at the same time he takes on other projects, snaps pictures of Bethlehem activities, and smiles and darts about looking to assist with every effort.  And, of course, his enthusiasm is contagious.

Yes, Jan has been the Chair of Christian

Caregiving

seemingly

back through the ages- before, during, and after my Council tenure..  She leads by doing; and doing so without ongoing recognition and when most of the congregation is unaware of her efforts.  She has lit the lamp.  She has drawn the water.  She has prepared the meal.  She has personified the care that we read of in many Gospel stories and that Christ directed us to in His new commandment.  What a talented and committed disciple.

Thank you all for your good work.
