Social Ministry Committee
Committee function
This committee’s purpose shall be to extend Christian compassion and helpfulness to the ill, the aged, the orphaned, the underprivileged, the imprisoned, and in general, to persons in need of aid in body or soul. The committee shall strive to enlist as many individual members and organizations of the congregation as possible in these efforts. The committee has special responsibilities for the Northwest Michigan Blood Drive, Relay for Life annual event, Crop Walk, Community Meals Program and Habitat for Humanity. This committee will also look in the local community for other opportunities to bring the healing light of Christian truth to those in need.

From the October 2006 Bethlehem Star:
This is a reminder to everyone that we still serve the Community Meals at Trinity Lutheran Church on the third Sunday of each month. WE NEED HELP! Here's how it works: each week a local restaurant donates the meal. The team leaders (already in place) get the donated food and bring it to Trinity .We need more volunteers to help set-up the food table, serve and clean up after the meal. (Kind of like at home!) Very simple. We usually serve 30-40 people; time commitment is from 4:15-6 pm. It's a great opportunity to get to know other members of our congregation and to serve others in our community. The people who attend are very appreciative.
A sign-up sheet is on the KIOSK. Please consider putting your name on a blank space.
