Wow! It is almost Christmas and another year has gone by. As chair of the Property Committee I really appreciate the men who come to the Church every Tuesday morning and work so hard maintaining the church property. The church might have an altogether different look if it weren't for these men.
When the men come on Tuesday morning they change light bulbs, repair plumbing leaks, make minor repairs to light fixtures, furniture and other items, change banners, put up and take down window screens/storm windows; wash windows, remove cobwebs from building exterior, lubricate boiler pumps, air handlers, and ventilators, change air filters, lubricate door latches, do spring raking, fertilize lawn, mow lawn, maintain lawn mowers, rake leaves, trim shrubs, haul away brush, shovel snow and remove recyclables. The men also make minor repairs to the rental house.
Now that it is Christmas we have the task of cutting and bringing to the church the sanctuary Christmas tree. Dorothy Schulz has graciously given a tree from her yard and Steve Hubert will use his truck and trailer again to haul the tree.
The men who worked this year doing these things include Tom Christensen, Charlie Maule, Bud Couturier, Lyle Johnson, Burt Plumly, Roy Stowe, Cal Cole, Norm Fred, Carl Tacke, Al Tatman, Bill Springer, Wil Williamson, Bud Habermann, Dale Leider, John Jefferson, Jim Achard, Lyle Bradford and Butch Waisanen.
I would be remiss if I didn't say thank you to the Tuesday morning ladies sewing group for always providing tasty treats for us to enjoy in our coffee break. The snacks and the warm fellowship the guys share during coffee are reasons they keep coming back week after week.
These men are a Christmas gift to the church that just keeps on giving and giving.
